


At 24, Angela ran for City Council District 10 last summer because she didn’t want to see her one-year-old daughter grow up in an area with an increasing crime rate. “People look at me like I’m a little girl out there,” she says. “You have to let them know that you mean business.” Although Angela didn’t win the election, she is still passionate about changing the community for the better.
