Natalee Holloway's case closed abruptly

Tuesday, December, 18, 2007

Natalee was obviously murdered. No body, no consequences? Come on! I’m just so angry about it. The media did more to prosecute the suspects than the law did. At least we have checks and balances going for us in America. Thank goodness for that.

I’m so proud of Natalee’s mother for fighting for her daughter and for the case to be known. She said what she needed to and she said it loud. And she kept her head screwed on--how she did it while her daughter was missing, I have no idea. But it really demonstrates how the media can help bring attention to an issue and get people emotionally involved. You know, getting people to care about other people. The kind of thing people should do anyway, right? Anyway, my heart goes out to their family.

Hopefully evidence will be found and the case will be re-opened.

It is so sad that this case could not be solved. I was in Aruba almost 10 years ago and know the island. It is not large. Whenever there is a young attractive yet naive girl, alcohol, and a failure of proper chaperoning in a foreign land, there is bound to be trouble. There is a cliff there that all the organic "edible" garbage from the island is taken for dumping into the sea. I have felt from the start of this case that may have been the fate of this poor girl as there would not be any way for authorities to find her body after sharks, who feed there, were through. It is gruesome and tragic to say the least and unfortunately for her parents they will never know who did this horrific crime. Cathy
