26.2

Sunday, February, 17, 2008

This morning we went to support the runners at the 26.2 race with Donna. I had never been to a marathon before and was surprised at the shear number of runners. Men, women, young and old, they were all there, to support people they loved and people they lost.

For February it was HOT, I mean HOT. 80 degrees by 9:30am. I was hot standing there and I know when the runners got to where we were standing they had already run approx. 9 miles and they did alot of that on the beach!

But they were still running and still smiling. I took pictures and I will have them up on Monday.

At point, as I extended my hand out for a high five to a group of women, yelling “great job, keep it up”... one woman, looked at us and said “thank you for coming out and supporting us” and before I could help myself, I yelled back “No, thank you for running to save my boobs!” And for someone who wears a 40D, I should have been throwing rose petals down before these people for running to find a cure and support people with breast cancer.

Amazing people. Amazing spirits.

Thank YOU!
