When life gives you lemons, don’t make lemonade. Stand back and laugh. It seems that when we were children we always found something to laugh about. So rosy were my rose-colored glasses that I was often scolded for loudly looking on the brighter side. What could possibly be so funny? people would ask. Everything. Especially the way some people take themselves so seriously. Take a look around you and find the humor in life. You’ll find it everywhere, from the way traffic clogs up when you’re late to a blemish greeting you on your birthday. Feel free to laugh at yourself and with the women in the following pages. They invite you to! (As if you need an invitation to laugh out loud!) So snap out of that winter funk—it’s skirt season! Decide to be happy, already. Jacksonville welcomes spring with BBQs, music, and beachside festivals. All you have to do is take the time to breathe in and smile.
