Richard also cooks better than his father, who butchers his own meat. Deciding on his destiny before he learned to drive, he is now the Chef de Cuisine of Salt at the Ritz Carlton on AmeliaIsland. As such, Richard not only puts together 13 course meals, but he supervises sevencooks at making the most presentable and unique dishes with the best (and most expensive) ingredients. He can make caviar-like bubbles out of cucumber, and orders micro-herbs at almost thirty bucks a container, just so the customers at Salt feel that their experience has been lavishly unique. At only 29 years old, the expert chef has worked in restaurants in New York and Idaho, and has mingled amongst the likes of Tiger Woods and Arnold Schwarzenegger. His favorite part? Teaching. The ability to handle the “best food in the world” is a rush, too, he says.
