“We all want to laugh. We all want to fall in love. We just use different languages and symbols,” Jenny says, after teaching English throughout Indonesia and researching religion in Haiti. She and her twin sister founded The Vibe Foundation in 2001, a non-profit that selected and distributed volunteers to locations around the globe. They halted the program last January due to political and environmental problems, but Jenny won’t quit traveling. “I want to keep that international side alive. I try to leave the country at least once a year,” she says. Jenny first traveled to Haiti, fascinated by its religious affiliations. “I was intimidated at first by everything,” she says. She had stayed inside a van taking photos for days, afraid to interact. Now she says, “I feel like I can do anything. I’m not intimidated to put myself in a challenging situation.”
