Everything Zen

I went on a painting spree last night--finally!! I’ve had two different sized canvases just hanging out in my closet for over a year now that I’ve been telling myself I’d get to. I bought that acrylic paint from Reddi Arts about a month ago and it’s been sitting on my kitchen counter, beckoning to me.

So last night, after a quick viewing of The Other Boleyn Girl, (it always helps me destress, because I think, no matter how stressed I am, at least I’m  not getting my head cut off like Anne Boleyn) I decided it was time to put some color on these canvases. I put on the July playlist from UrbanOutfitters.com (I really like 1,2,3,4 by Feist--gets the pace going) and 2 hours later (midnight) I had 2 great looking paintings. One is kind of coral and sunset like with a random turquoise curl, and the other is shades of blue that slowly melt into black at the bottom. Love it! It looks like the ocean when it changes depth.

Anyway, I couldn’t help but feeling that after I had painted like I had totally binged my stress. Painting for me feels a lot like exercising--it just zens me out. Only, now I have a crick in my neck from tilting my head while developing my masterpieces. No pain, no glory, huh? Haha.
