I love to write, dance (even when no one is looking), eat burritos, read until my eyes ache (favorite authors: Mona Simpson, Sara Dunant),draw, cook, push myself, spend time with my family and friends, shop for shoes, dress up, sleep in, play with my cats, travel, take road-trips, swim, read on the beach, and make mixed CDs that serve me well in rush hour traffic.

Biography

I grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area. I had my head and heart set on being a writer, an itch to travel, and an independent spirit. I graduated from the University of Iowa with degrees in English and Journalism. I was twice accepted into the Iowa Writers' Workshop for fiction, where I learned a great deal of "just do it." I worked as an Arts & Entertainment Reporter for several years at The Daily Iowan. Then I spent a summer in New York City at Jane Magazine. I moved back to California, wrote for Bay Area Business Woman News, and eventually moved to Florida with my sister. Now I'm the editor of skirt! Jacksonville and having the time of my life writing for you! I live by the water again, just 2000 miles away from where I began, and I feel I've achieved a sort of symmetry.
